The 9 Energy Year: Allowing, Accepting, and Celebrating the Clearing
Three weeks into the 9 energy year of 2025 is an excellent time to pause and reassess. How well have you adjusted to the flow of the nine?
For many, the new year already began with an intense clearing. If you were tuned into what I shared last fall, I revealed that the 9 energy month of October, 2024 was serving as a preview for what 2025 was going to look like.
The end of September and early October brought Hurricanes Helene and Milton, bringing a massive clearing through high winds , storm surge, flooding, and mudslides to numerous states in the Southeast United States including widespread devastation in Florida and North Carolina. This January, we experienced devastating wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area. (In Chinese Feng Shui, the 9 represents fire.)
This begs the question - Is this what a 9 energy year looks like?
If we look historically, the last time we encountered a 9 energy year was in 2016. There were several major natural disasters contributing to a clearing out of old energies that year including:
Hurricane Matthew - A Category 5 hurricane causing widespread destruction in the Caribbean and the southeastern USA, resulting in over 700 deaths, mostly in Haiti,
Ecuadorian earthquake - A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Ecuador, killing over 650 people and causing extensive damage,
Japanese earthquake - A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Japan, resulting in 273 deaths, landslides, and significant damage,
Chinese floods - Severe flooding of the Yangtze River in China led to the deaths of 181 people and displaced millions from their homes and businesses,
Typhoon Lionrock - A typhoon in North Korea killed over 130 people, caused severe flooding and displaced thousands.
Although every 9 energy year is not the same due to differences in planetary alignments and consciousness shifts, there are similarities in that the 9 will clear out old, stagnant energies, relationships, ways of living, doing business, and the like. If it’s not aligned with our vision of where we’re headed, the 9 says it has to go.
Sometimes these clearings can be painful if we’ve been resisting the change needed throughout the 9-year cycle that we are now completing. We’ve been receiving guidance and intuitive nudges for the past 8 years and if we’ve resisted implementing course corrections and changes, the 9 now comes in and does for you what you could not (or chose not) to do for yourself.
Nine is a completion energy. We complete an old cycle and prepare for the new nine-year cycle slated to begin in 2026. It works hand-in-hand with the Universal Law of Vacuum. It clears and creates space so that there’s room to bring something newer and better in.
This can be challenging for someone to accept who has just lost all their belongings or worse yet, loved ones, whether it is through a major disaster or a more personal clearing such as a divorce, mold infestation, loss of a job, passing of a loved one - there are infinite ways we can experience the clearing energy.
When faced with major loss, we must first process the grief that rises up and move into acceptance. The more we resist the clearing events which are unfolding, the more we can find ourselves stuck in grief and victimhood, both lower expressions of the nine.
It is always important to feel our feelings and process them and we do have a choice as to whether or not we’re going to stay attached to the concept of loss and grief.
The alternative is to choose acceptance and celebrate the bigger picture that space has now been made for something bigger, better, and more exciting to come into our life experience. This is the higher expression of the nine.
We saw the bigger picture in October after the hurricanes and again in the past couple of weeks after the fires in Los Angeles. We also saw it back in 2016 through all the disasters that took place that nine year as well.
People opened their hearts with love, compassion, and offered support and aid to those adversely affected by the disasters. Survivors were given the opportunity to start their lives over, often in a new place and home, in new communities, some may even have relocated quite far from where they were prior to these events. They got to witness their own courage and resiliency.
Were their lives made better in the long run? The nine says YES, if they found a place of acceptance and eventually celebration, welcoming in the new.
If they resisted and stayed stuck in grief and victimhood, they will be given another opportunity this year to let it all go and transform their experience into something new and better. This is the promise of the nine.
The nine is inviting us to allow, accept, and celebrate the clearings this year. Trust that they are happening for a reason and are helping to transform our lives into something even better.
