Your Body Is Shifting: Understanding the Spiritual Flu and Energetic Upgrades
Many in our Wisdom of the Numbers community are reporting a rise in ascension symptoms within the past week and have asked me what the heck is going on energetically.
Current Energetic Summary
What is triggering these Ascension Symptoms?
We are experiencing significant planetary and numerical energetic shifts that really began to intensify over the past week. Saturn moved into Aries for the first time in 29 years on Sunday. We also had a the 3rd and final Super New Moon of the year in Gemini on Monday night which presented a highly optimistic and enlivened new beginning for us. There have been multiple, significant solar flares over the past week as well as spikes in the Schumann resonance.
In numerology, this year May is a double 5 energy month. Five is the number of spiritual consciousness and expansion. It’s about adventuring into the unknown. Five brings change and growth, both of which we have been experiencing in spades this month.
The Super New Moon in Gemini was at 6 degrees. The six restores things back into balance. If you were significantly out of balance, the six would have shown you what is no longer working for you.
Lastly, we are feeling the energy of June approaching which will be a double 6 energy month this year. So that balancing energy is significant right now and will remain so for the coming month. Any time we are transitioning from one month to the next, we experience an energetic hiccup in the energy which can also take more than a minute in which to adjust.
So many big energetic shifts and changes can bring on Ascension Symptoms.
Let’s look at what Ascension Symptoms are, what causes them, and how you can alleviate them more quickly.
Ascension Symptoms aka Spiritual Flu
What are ascension symptoms aka spiritual flu symptoms?
Ascension symptoms can mimic traditional flu symptoms without actually having the flu. They include, fatigue, body aches, headaches, sore or scratchy throat, sinus pressure, coughing, sneezing, upset stomach, body temperature fluctuations, dizziness, and more. You may also experience mood swings - more extreme highs and lows, anxiety, depression, brain-fog, and confusion.
Symptoms will vary by individual and can be outside of the scope of what I’ve listed here, which are the most common ones.
The severity of symptoms will also depend on the individual based on current overall health, state of conscious, and how aligned (or not) the individual is with their Soul purpose at the time of the shift.
How do you know if it's flu vs. ascension symptoms? You won't actually be sick with a fever.* You are also usually intuitively aware that although it may feel like the flu, it’s somehow different.
Ascension symptoms will not be chronic. They will rise and leave over the course of one day to a week on average.
Plus, there will be lots of other spiritual adventurers like yourself reporting symptoms all around the same time.
The Root Cause of Ascension Symptoms
What causes ascension symptoms to occur?
Significant energetic shifts happening in the numbers and planets, likely accompanied by a series of significant solar flares and/or spikes in the Schumann Resonance are usually the triggers that cause of ascension symptoms.
What is happening energetically is a great expansion in consciousness is taking place. These shifts are assimilated by our spiritual, mental, and emotional bodies much more easily than our physical bodies. Our physical bodies are much more dense and require more time to process and integrate these big changes.
The physical symptoms we experience are a manifestation of the dissonance between our spiritual, mental and emotional bodies with our physical body until it is able to process and integrate the changes. Once, the physical body catches up, the symptoms dissipate.
Messages Through Ascension Symptoms
Is the physical body relaying important messages through the ascension symptoms?
Yes! Symptoms can hold significant messages for you on where your current physical paradigm is out of alignment with your new, expanded consciousness. For instance, if you’re experiencing lower back pain, that could mean your current paradigm is one of lack and scarcity and the expanded consciousness landing is one of abundance, receiving, and flow. The pain in your back is asking you to let go of your old paradigm as it is no longer serving you.
A headache could be asking you to trust your intuition and physic abilities more and open up deeper to your spiritual self.
When determining messages, I consider the location of the symptom in terms of the seven major chakras and what each of the chakras signify. (A topic for another post!)
I also like to ask my body what messages it has for me through the symptom.
Alleviating Ascension Symptoms
What can be done to alleviate ascension symptoms?
The most powerful thing you can do is acknowledge and adjust based on the messages your body is giving you through the symptoms. This will essentially remove the ‘need’ for the symptom to serve as a messenger to get your attention. Make any necessary changes to become more aligned with your new paradigm and you’ll find your symptoms will likely dissipate.
There are other things you can do to help alleviate ascension symptoms while you’re working on your alignment which include:
Hydration is key. The body is primarily water and these types of consciousness-expanding energetic events can cause us to become physically dehydrated. Our normal routines are not enough during these times.
Tips for Increasing Hydration:
Add lemon or lime to your water.
Drink clean, well-filtered water and increase your normal intake.
Coconut water, celery juice, and other fresh fruit and vegetable juices are super hydrating.
Raw fruits and vegetables are more hydrating than cooked food of any kind. Consider reducing cooked food to one meal per day.
Significantly reduce or eliminate entirely things like caffeine, alcohol, cane sugar, sugar substitutes, any form of MSG, salt, vinegar, cooking oils, and food additives and preservatives.
Gentle stretching and movement of the body will help guide the energy through so that it doesn’t get stuck. I love yin yoga for this purpose.
Rest if you are tired. Don’t try to push yourself to do more than feels intuitively right.
Ground. Spend time outside in natural settings, preferably with bare feet. If this is not possible, use a grounding mat, spend time with pets and plants, wear crystals such as hematite, smoky quartz and obsidian, take an Epsom or Himalayan salt bath, and use essential oils such as vetiver, cedarwood, and patchouli.
Process emotions. Give yourself time and space to process your emotions. They are likely to rise up as the body is shifting and processing them will help facilitate a smoother physical release and transition.
